Garden Project

William Blake House are fundraising for our Garden Project, for its creation and longer term development.  Our residents so very much enjoy being outside, whether they are socialising, relaxing, or being active and we want to ensure that we can provide an area in which they can do all of this, but also somewhere where they can look after animals (such as chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs), plant and tend to flowers and shrubs in raised beds, grow fresh produce from their own vegetable patch and harvest this food for their home.  We also want to create a sheltered area, so that the garden can be enjoyed throughout the seasons.
We envisage our garden to be filled with wonderful things to see, smell and feel.  A place within the community to be enjoyed, to be stimulated; somewhere that our community can be together, feel empowered and valued.

Here is a short video made by the parents of one of our residents, showing the progress we’ve made in our beautiful garden.

Sensory Room

As a provider of person centred care, we have many residents that would benefit greatly from the use of a sensory room; an area where they can relax, have the opportunity to develop their gross motor skills, communicate, improve their engagement and reduce their anxiety.  We are fund raising to create this specially designed room for our residents, which would combine a range of stimuli (lights, colours, sounds, sensory soft play objects, aromas) to help our residents develop and engage their senses, and to explore and interact in a safe environment.
These projects are very close to our hearts and any support or assistance that we receive would be immensely beneficial in helping us bring these projects to fruition and therefore enhancing the lives of our residents.

Just Giving

We have a page on the Just Giving website via which one-off or regular donations can be made towards our ongoing projects such as our garden and our sensory room.

We'll keep you updated as we move towards the completion of these exciting new developments.
