Physical Activities
Fresh air, movement, exercise: essential for everyone, and a key part of the holistic healthy living approach of William Blake House.
Spa
William Blake House makes use of the local spa. Most of the residents enjoy the facilities such as pool, jacuzzi, steam rooms, saunas and refreshments within a pleasantly decorated environment.
Local Walks
We are situated in the picturesque countryside, giving our residents the opportunity to make use of the local walks and also enjoy longer walks in the nearby forests such as Salcey forest, as well as other country parks in Northamptonshire.
Horse Riding
Horse riding is one of the essential and therapeutic activities for the residents in William Blake House. The residents go to the local RDA school, which provides an excellent service and volunteer staff to support the residents. This activity helps the residents to improve their posture and sense of balance.
Indoor Sports
A weekly activity for all the residents of William Blake House is the indoor movement and sport session that takes place in the Village Hall.
It includes a range of individual and group games using beanbags, footballs, tables, boxes, obstacles and targets.
Residents and staff alike enjoy the various games and a good time is had by all.
Sailing
During the summer we visit Sailability at Pitsford Reservoir, a sailing club for young people and adults with physical and learning disabilities. It's a great opportunity for our residents to safely experience the thrill of sailing on a large body of water in a beautiful rural setting.
